In keeping near surgery and art Dr. Metka has launched a series of courses, where surgeons can expand their skills.
In the course of scientific development in medical schools there has been more and more a shift in favor of histology, electron and biochemistry. This access is not for all physicians of equal importance. Especially for general, plastic or aesthetic surgeons, jaw and dermatological surgeons biochemistry is less, but the morphology is very important. But it is precisely the recognition of musical forms and the tactile experience which is so important for surgeons who are working with body shapes day by day.
With the course Anatomical Modeling for surgeons we want to change that. We rely – in the spirit Oskar Kokoschka's School of Seeing – back on tried and tested means. We want to create an experience with which we surgeons can improve our work further.
