Checklist
The surgeon was recommended by:
Good:
- a friend with a similar operation
- by a physician, a nurse or somebody out of the medical profession
- is allowed to perform his operations in a well recommended hospital
- specialist (Diplomate) in Plastic Surgery (addititional credit: Aesthetic Surgery)
- has had his training in a plastic surgical unit
Not so good:
- found him in the internet
- yellow pages (all inserts are self paid)
- ad in a newpaper
- was mentioned in the press
- recommended by “someone”
Warning:
- recommended by a “friend”
- recommended by someone who receives a commission (and probably does not say so)
- specialist in other than plastic surgery
- doctor does not answer questions
- doctor is impatient or arrogant
- talks you into an operation
- his office and he himself appear not professional
